 Description   

I am running out of space in my disk and found /var/lib/mysql_bkp/ which is taking some space. I assume this was created when upgrading from 4.0 to 4.01.  Do I need to keep these files?.  It is about 5GB

Good day,

Its not safe to delete the bin logs that you mentioned /var/lib/my_sql/astpp.
You can take cdrs backup move the files and clear it.
