 Description

Hi ASTPP Gurus!

We have been doing a proof of concept for ASTPP and have found a few shortcomings which I think would be easily resolved but also enhance the product for everyone.

I believe that the billing hierarchy currently is flawed in that only one rate card can be applied per customer. That is, if a customer has 100 DID's, you cannot have 20 DID's on Rate Card A, 50 DID's on Rate Card B, and 30 DID's on Rate Card C.

So, how can this be fixed? So I have putting some thought in to this process and believe it can be resolved in the following way;

Customer (Billing Entity)
       |_ Subscription
                |_Product (Monthly Recurring Charge)
                        |_ Multiple Products
                        |_Product Bundle
                                |_ Inclusion A
                                |_ Inclusion B
                |_ DID's (Numbers Associated to Subscription)
                |_ Rate Card (Tariffs)
                        |_ Rate Plan (Bucket of Inclusions & Exclusions)
                                 |_ Ability to allow inclusions for a whole destination
                                 |_ Ability to allow a certain number of calls for a destination
                                 |_ Ability to allow a certain number of minutes for a destination
                                 |_ Ability to allow a certain $ value of inclusion for a destination

This way, a single Customer can have a mix of different Subscriptions on their account, each subscription can have a different way of billing.

Use Case;

John Smith Inc is a company.
They have multiple subscriptions for different services they procure from Telco Provider Inc.

Subscription 1 - SIP Trunk with a Monthly fee per channel, 100 DID's, and a Rate Plan which inclusive of Unlimited Local, National and Mobile calls, but excludes all other types of calls (ie. calls not on the Rate Plan would be billed per the Rate Card).

Subscription 2 - Fax2Email Service with a monthly fee for the base product, 1 DID, and a Rate Plan with No Inclusions (ie. All Calls Billed per the Rate Card).

Subscription 3 - Hosted PBX Service with a monthly fee per user, 300 DID's and a Rate Plan Which is inclusive of Unlimited Local, National and Mobile Calls and Includes 100 Free Minutes to UK, USA, Canada.

I think by addressing the hierarchy of billing per the above, it would add a lot more value to the product as it becomes far more versatile and allows a customer to have lots of services each with a different plan.

Feedback and comments welcomed

Cheers
Greg

Thanks Greg for the thorough explanation of your request.
It is making sense.
However ASTPP is going to launch new version very soon which may have this possibility.
So please hang tight until then.
Or if you have started working on your own and planning to be done soon, please send MR.
